Apple and Orange at odds over iPhone deal: report
Well, duh! Of course they are going to be at odds - they're called "Apple" and "Orange" for cryin' out loud!
I wonder - are there any companies called "Cat" and "Dog"? How about "Oil" and "Water"?

Just finished reading Samarkand, on the life and times of the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam. Historical fiction zindabad!
A particular rubaiyat resonates (as translated by Edward Fitzgerald):
Ah Love! could thou and I with Fate conspire
To grasp this sorry Scheme of Things entire
Would we not shatter it to bits-- and then
Re-mould it nearer to the Heart's Desire!

This is a very exciting discovery - a chemist has managed to find a way to burn salt water! Just when you think Man knows everything... :)

I have problems with Ipods. Many many problems. And I always wondered why nobody else seemed to have these problems. No, not with Ipods malfunctioning, but with the very concept of an Ipod, with it's ITunes and DRM nonsense.
Finally, someone has taken the time to write a piece on Apple's presumptuousness (but clarifies that they are an Apple supporter for the record).
Linky...
I have never bought an Apple product yet, and I don't see that changing in the near future. I have a MP3 player that doesn't force me to buy from anywhere, or buy at all. It has a color screen, an FM radio, plays movies, and records voice. It cost me about $90. It didn't come with a white headset, which means I don't look cool wearing it.
However, I'd rather be free than cool.

Hospital Troubles
I'd heard of a hospital in England opening up the left side of the brain to remove a tumor in the right side and then claiming that there was no tumor in the brain but at least they paid the patient a mentionable amount for the blunder!
This hospital had better trivia to offer for the day:
All a human skull is worth is 3000 euros and a plastic skull works better for you than the real one!

1 Comments:
Don't know about oil.. but there's a company called H20 or something like that
